Marklin is a European based model train maker from Germany. It's a very well known brand. Marklin is also the oldest maker of electric model trains in the world as well. Marklin makes model trains in the Z 1 and HO gauges. They also produce digital powered model trains as well now which are becoming popular.

Marklin has a fine history of creating quality electric model trains. They meet all the safety requirements of the EU. Another brand name of Marklin, Trix based in Nuremberg also manufactures toy trains. It makes DC operated HO scale model trains for shipment through out Europe and America.

Marklin was also the first to introduce the new type of model train, that digital mode train system. This was introduced a while back, in 1984 with the help of the conglomerate Motorola.
